Portfolio
I'm a senior Interactive Media Studies major at Miami University specializing in Virtual Reality and Visualization, and have been using game engines for new and exciting projects for several years now. While my focus may be in VR, I am also a skilled game designer, 3D modeler, and programmer and I thoroughly enjoy animation. I have a lot of experience in the Unity game engine and I am currently learning Unreal Engine 4. Previously I worked at NASA as a Game Development Intern at the Glenn Research Center, I was a UI designer for Ascape VR, and before that I was the Lead Project Developer at Miami University's Smale Interactive Visualization Center. I am passionate about technology and how it is going to change the way we interact with everything around us.
Level Design
The Hive Adventure is a map that I was working on at Miami University practicing level design in UE4.
Strange Cove is a level that I have been working on while learning Substance Painter and Substance Designer.
Interactives
For my Thesis I built a large scale virtual reality recreation of a scene from Jurassic World in Unity. I used Miami University's Huge Immersive Virtual Environment (HIVE) to allow for a physical 40m x 20m walkable space that the user can be tracked in. I am also using the Razer Hydra to track the user's hands and enable interaction with the virtual environment. A demo version is also being made to work with just the headset and controllers.
This is a video of a near complete educational game and outreach exhibit for NASA being developed for the Space Communications and Navigation Network in the Graphics and Visualization Department at NASA Glenn
This game is a paper prototype for a digital game. This is made for IMS 225, Games and Learning, at Miami University.
I'm learning Unreal Engine 4 (I already have a lot of experience in Unity) and I'm trying to make a horror game. This is a quick walkthrough of the coastal village that the game takes place in. Obviously I still have a lot to learn but the level editor is a fantastic tool!
2D and 3D Art
Concept art for a game character named BR0 aka Brobot. This starts with me retracing an earlier sketch I had done on paper and several iterations of the color and details. Drawn on an iPad gen 3 with Sketchbook Pro and an Adonit Jot stylus.
Taking my concept art for a fantasy weapon from pen and paper to an animated 3D model. The concept art was drawn on an iPad in Sketckbook Pro and the model was made in Maya 2016.
